Course Description

This course provides an introduction to adult learning theory. Students will explore adult developmental issues, theories of motivation, as well as discover strategies and methodologies for increasing learning. The course goal is to assist students in enhancing their own learning and teaching skills.

  Analysis of the experience through the lens of Adult Learning Principles 10pts  
  Articulation of thoughts and ideas including grammar and punctuation 5pts  
  Objectiveness of the evaluation 5pts  
  Development of new ideas/alternatives 10pts  
Personal Learning Journal Evaluated on the quality and richness of thought as demonstrated by the learner's ability to:   10pts
  Compare and contrast course content with learner's own experiences 5pts  
  Develop new thoughts and ideas as they relate to course concepts with learner's own experiences 5pts  
Group Presentation Evaluated via a 360-degree feedback session. Evaluation criteria include:   30pts
  Active participation of all group members 10pts  
  Accurate use of course terms and concepts within the presentation 10pts  
  Creative employment of teaching strategies/methodologies that meet the needs of the adult learner 10pts
