Don't let yesterday keep today.

Rich: Thanks for the Writer's Almanac text - I usually miss this on workdays - which is "most days". Did you get the CD...and is it essentially "the story" I thought it was?
Joan and I leave for Mexico City at 6:00am on 6/30. She goes on to Morelia until 7/31 while I return to house and dog on 7/8/05. Please consider attending the 7/10/05 7:00pm Taize Prayer Service at Sacred Heart - it's unique!..and a wonderful musical/personal chanting ("om-like") prayer experience.
John,
I'm so glad you found my humble offerings here. I am always away from the radio and miss the Writer's Almanac as well. I sometimes quote the Almanac on these pages as well.
The CD was wonderful. The Waifs' "Bridal Train" is very close to my Mom's story. She, however, emigrated after WW2 as a fiancee to join my Dad in Pensylvania. They had to financed her trip, because the US did not classify her as a War bride. They were married in Nov. 1946 until 1992 when my Dad passed over that mysterious veil.
Blessings,
Rich
